It is recorded that Fanny's friend, Phoebe P. Knapp, played a tune for her and asked what the tune said to her. Fanny listened and replied, "It says 'Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine.'"

Blessed Assurance is a prayer that is recited by Christians who believe in the power of prayer. This prayer is said to bring blessings from God and to provide guidance and protection. The words of this prayer are:

"Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine; Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine! Heir of salvation, purchase of God, born of His Spirit, washed in His blood. This is my story, this is my song, praising my Savior all the day long."
