What Lessons Can We Learn from the Life of Nicodemus?

2. Jesus then went on to tell Nicodemus that he needed to be born again. Nicodemus was confused and he asked how someone could be born again when they were already old. Jesus explained to him that he needed to be born of water and the Spirit in order to enter the kingdom of God.

3. We see from this story that it doesn't matter how much we know, if we don't have salvation, we are still lost. We need to be born again in order to enter the kingdom of God.

4. Nicodemus is also an example of someone who was willing to put aside his preconceived notions about who Jesus was in order to listen to what he had to say. Nicodemus could have easily dismissed Jesus as a crazy man, but instead, he listened to him and he even had some honest questions.

Nicodemus and Joseph of Arimathea were the two men who went to Pilate to ask for the body of Jesus after he was crucified. They were both secret followers of Jesus. They wrapped his body in a linen cloth and they laid him in a tomb that had been cut out of rock.

We see from this story that Nicodemus was not afraid to show his allegiance to Jesus, even though it could have cost him his life. He was willing to risk everything for Jesus.
