Who is a prophet according to the Bible verses?
A prophet is a person whom God appoints to speak His word. Biblically, a prophet is one who speaks on behalf of God and delivers the message that God gives him to deliver.
Prophets are often sent by God to encourage or admonish His people in times of need - much like the prophet Nathan in 2 Samuel 12 when he told David how David's son would die because of his sins with Bathsheba.
Prophets also preached God's message to His people. For example, Isaiah spoke about the life of Jesus before he was born (Isaiah 7:14).
Prophets are a gift from God to His church and they should be celebrated.
2 Chronicles 20 20 Meaning?
