What Are The Characteristics Of A Prophet?
A prophet has to be called by God.
A prophet must be able to receive revelation from God.
A prophet must be able to preach the Word of God and His laws and commandments given through revelation.
A prophet’s words should bear witness in the scriptures already revealed by God. There should be no contradictions between what he says and what is written in the Bible.
A prophet should possess all the character and personality traits of a righteous man as written in the scriptures, e.g., Moses was compassionate, Aaron was humble, David was patient, Jesus Christ was loving.
Where in the Bible does it say the prophet?
There are several verses in the Bible that mentions the prophets of God, Jeremiah 1:5 KJV – “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.“
Who is a prophet according to the Bible verses?
A prophet is a person whom God appoints to speak His word. Biblically, a prophet is one who speaks on behalf of God and delivers the message that God gives him to deliver.
Prophets are often sent by God to encourage or admonish His people in times of need – much like the prophet Nathan in 2 Samuel 12 when he told David how David’s son would die because of his sins with Bathsheba.
Prophets also preached God’s message to His people. For example, Isaiah spoke about the life of Jesus before he was born (Isaiah 7:14).
Prophets are a gift from God to His church and they should be celebrated.
2 Chronicles 20 20 Meaning?
The Bible says in 2 Chronicles 20:20 – “Believe in God, and you will be established. Believe in His prophet, and you shall prosper.“
A believer or group of believers that have no prophetic direction are just like somebody without a compass walking in the bush and looking for his destination. So when we believe in God, He will establish the works of our hands, and when we believe in God’s prophets, God will bless us abundantly.
