What Are Intercessory Prayers?

The following definition of intercessory prayer is from Dictionary.com: "a prayer offered on behalf of another person who is not present." It literally means "stands between". It is where someone prays on behalf of another person who cannot pray for themselves.

The role of an intercessor is to be the conduit through which God's power flows. Intercession usually takes place in situations when one needs divine intervention; hence, it is a popular ministry for those filled with the power of the Holy Spirit.

Intercessory prayers are offered to God on behalf of another person. It may be spoken, sung, or read to God, and can include words of adoration, praise, thanksgiving, and/or repentance.

When you are praying for others, always remember that your primary concern should be their spiritual welfare because everything else will fall into place if they are connected to our Father through Jesus Christ.
