Sympathize with our weakness in its simplest form means an emotional response of care and concern for someone else. When we see another human being going through a tough time, our instinct is to first feel empathy for them.

As Christians, we are to show compassion on them, and the willingness to offer any form of support where possible.

What does the Bible say about showing sympathy?

The bible says in Hebrews 4:15-16 "For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are - yet was without sin. Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need."

In this verse, there are two parts to it. The first part is "sympathize with our weaknesses," while the second part is "Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence."

This Bible verse gives us insight into how personal our heavenly father is to us. Many people in society think of God as a supernatural being who lives somewhere above the sky, waiting to punish us for every offense or sin we commit.

But what they do not realize is that God loves every one of us intensely, and He knows us better than we even know ourselves and His always ready to help us in our weakness or in our time of need.

One of the worst things we can do as Christian is sit in the mud and feel sorry for ourselves or say how unworthy we are before God. But I want to reassure you that God wants us to come boldly before Him and ask Him for grace and, He is forever willing to forgive us of our sins.

None of us is without sin. We all have made some costly mistakes in life, but God wants to help us change as a person, as well as change our circumstances for our good.

But for this to happen, we have to be bold and come to God, who understands our weakness, and ask for the grace to change and become better.

Shame is a powerful emotional feeling, and it keeps us from seeking God. We feel unworthy and scared to ask God for anything. But without boldly asking God for grace, how else will we ever change?

How to overcome our weaknesses?

1. We should always remember that we are not alone in our struggles because Jesus understands our weaknesses.
2. We need to be bold and ask God for help.
3. We need to have faith that God can and will help us change.
4. We should never give up because change is possible with God's help.
5. We should always be grateful for God's grace and mercy.

How to approach the throne of grace?

1. We need to realize that we are sinners in need of a Savior.
2. We must repent of our sins and ask God for forgiveness.
3. We need to have faith that Jesus died on the cross for our sins and that He is the only way to the Father.
4. We need to ask God to help us change our ways and to give us the strength to overcome our weaknesses.
5. We should never be afraid to come boldly before the presence of God because we are all sinners in need of God's grace.
