God tells us in Psalm 37:8 - that we should Stop being angry! Turn from your rage! Do not lose your temper - it only leads to harm. So when we allow anger in our heart, it only leads to one thing - Evil.
So as Children of God, we ought to let go all forms of bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander, along with all malice. Living free of anger requires a repentant heart.
1. "If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also." (Luke 6:29)
This is one of the most well-known Bible verses about anger. It basically says that we should not retaliate or respond in kind when someone wrongs us. Instead, we should be forgiving and turn the other cheek.
2. "A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger." (Proverbs 15:1)
This verse teaches us that we can diffuse anger by responding with kindness. When someone is angry, they are not in a good place to listen to reason. A gentle response can help to calm them down and resolve the situation.
3. "Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love." (Ephesians 4:2)
This verse reminds us that we should be kind and understanding towards others, even when they anger us. We should always try to put ourselves in the other person's shoes and see things from their perspective.
4. "Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice." (Ephesians 4:31)

Is it a sin to be angry?
When it comes to anger, this is part of the human emotions when reacting to something that annoys us, or fear of something, frustration etc. We express anger in many ways and some ways do lead to sin, especially when we loose control of our self.
The bible says in Ephesians 4:26 CSB - Be angry and do not sin. Don’t let the sun go down on your anger. This is an indication that the bible acknowledges that we will be angry at some point in our life, but warns us not to allow the anger linger till night fall.
So when we get angry, we need to resolve whatever the issue is with whom ever it involves immediately and reconcile. If we fail to do that, then that in my opinion is a sin.
What does God say about being slow to anger?
James 1:19-20 says, "Let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God."
This verse is often quoted in regards to anger, and rightfully so. It is a good reminder that we should not let our anger get the best of us. However, it is also a good reminder that we should be quick to listen and slow to speak.
We need to make sure that we are taking the time to listen to others, and not just jumping to conclusions. And when we do speak, let's make sure it is with gentleness and respect.
What does the Bible say about forgiving quickly?
The Bible instructs us to forgive quickly and completely. When we are wronged, we should forgive immediately and without hesitation. We should also seek forgiveness when we have wronged someone else. Forgiveness is an important part of the Christian life, and it is something that we should all strive to do.

The first step in breaking the stronghold of anger is to admit that we have a problem. We need to be honest with ourselves and recognize that we cannot handle our anger on our own. Once we have admitted that we need help, we need to find someone who can help us.
